Thai cyclist “Wut” Sarawut Sirironnachai won the “Best ASEAN Rider” title after he finished third place in the 2nd stage of “The Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn’s Cup Tour of Thailand 2018 on Monday.
The route started in front of the National Archives, in Chanthaburi province and finished in Aranyaprathet district, Sa Kaeo province.
Sarawut, of Thailand Continental Cycling Team, finished first place among the ASEAN riders. This made him lead the best time of 8.14.08 hours after two stages followed by Saleh Mohd Samri of Terengganu Cycling Team from Malaysia with 8.14.13.
While Iribe Shotaro of Shimano Cycling Team, Japan, ignored the hot wave of the sun and sprinted to cross the finishing line with 2.55.06 hours in f the distance of 173 km to win the second stage and also become the new leader who will wear the pink jersey with the best time of 8.14.04 hours with Sarawut following four seconds behind .Moreover, Thailand Continental Cycling Team is still the team leader of ASEAN after two stages with a total 24.42.53 hours, with Thailand national team and KFC Cycling Team of Indonesia following at second and third.
The third stage of 177.70 km will start at 9am from Aranyaprathet district, Sa Kaeo province and finish at Khao Yai National Park .
