Thai Football chief Somyot Poompanmoung yesterday urged all sides to keep eyes on match-fixing attempts and help eradicate the issue which he said was like a bad cancer.
Somyot insisted attempts to cheat in Thai football is not completely gone even though the Thai football governing body has been launching serious crackdown campaigns since last year. The former police chief burst out news last week that he was tipped off by a referee about evil movements to influence results of the Thai League.
He said FAT alone was unable to clean up match-fixing problems which have been conducted secretly. He urged all parties including fans to report to police if they witness such wrong-doings.
"If we don't cure this cancer Thai football will die eventually," he said.
