Thailand remained on course in their chase for the third successive SEA Games gold medal after they beat Cambodia 3-0 in the Pool B third round-robin at the Selayang Stadium on Sunday.
The defending champion picked up their second win in the Pool following a 1-0 victory over Timor Leste on Friday and a 1-1 draw with Indonesia on four days ago.
Picha Au-tra struck the first blood for Thailand in the in the 35 th minute before substitute Nattawut Sombatyotha put the Lingdom’s side in the driver’ seat with two goals in the 75thand 88th minutes.
Thailand and Vietnam are at tied second in the pool with seven points, two behind leader Indonesia who won three straight games.
Next up for Thailand is the match with the Philippines on Tuesday at 3pm Bangkok time.
On the women’s side, Thailand thrashed Malaysia 6-0 to remain unbeatable after three games. They will face Vietnam on Tuesday.
