Danthai Boonma produced a superb finishing eagle for a 66  to take a two shot lead over Setee Prakrongvech heading into the final round of the BT3.2 Million Singha E-San Open at the Singha Park Khon Kaen Golf Club on Saturday.

The 21-year-old from Sukhothai, who won the last All Thailand Tour event  in Nakhon Ratchasima last December, sank five birdies and one bogey before finishing in style with a five-foot eagle putt which propelled him to an overall 17 under-par-199.

“It was not an unexpected eagle. The second shot landed close to the pin with help from winds,” said Danthai looking for a back-to-back All Thailand Tour title.

“I’m putting well the whole week which is the key. Event saved par several times with good putts. I’m quite confident with my game now. That’s why I’m playing so well,” added Danthai.

Two strokes behind the lead was teenage Settee after a 67 and a total 201. Prayad Marksaeng, the half-way co-leader with Danthai, had to be content with a 71 which placed him at tied third alongside Sutijet Kooratanapisan, Chapchai Nirat and  Gunn Charoenchaikul.

Kusuma Meechai

On the women’s side, Kusuma Meechai won the title after firing a 68 for a three shot win over Wanchana Poruangrong with a total 9 under-par-207. She won the winner’s prize money of BT32,000.
