Kroekrit Thawikan’s brace inspired hosts Thailand to an impressive 2-0 victory over Jordan in the final of the 44th King’s Cup to clinch the record-extending 14th title at the Rajamangala National Stadium on Sunday evening.

After a dull first half, the Thai side burst into life after the break. However, there was a slice of luck about Kroekrit's first goal as he completely mishit the cross from the right side but the ball did not go anywhere and the Chonburi FC player calmly put it past the keeper into the back of the net.

With ten minutes remaining, the hosts made sure of the victory when a well-worked move into the right side of the area ended up with Kroekrit applying a simple finish to ensure Thailand reclaimed the title they last won nine years ago.
