Best Western Hotels & Resorts is about to land at Hokkaido’s New Chitose Airport, planning to open an upper-midscale property nearby in May.

Just 3.2 kilometres from the airport by car, Best Western Plus Hotel Fino Chitose will give guests easy acess to the northern island’s most desirable business and tourism destinations, including bustling Sapporo and Niseko, a hub for skiing and outdoor adventures.

Handling more than 20 million passengers per year, the airport provides direct connections to and from major cities across Asia and beyond, including Bangkok.

“With its snowcapped peaks, national parks and fresh mountain air, Hokkaido is a natural paradise for visitors – especially those from Asia’s most crowded cities,” says Olivier Berrivin, Asia managing director of international operations.

“So it’s no surprise that the island is welcoming a rising number of foreign visitors, the vast majority of whom travel through New Chitose Airport.

“With the launch of Best Western Plus Hotel Fino Chitose in May, we’ll be able to offer travellers a world-class, upper-midscale hotel within easy reach of the airport. Suited to both business and leisure travellers, including families, this exceptional new property will be ideal for guests wanting to break up their journey to and from Hokkaido, or those seeking a convenient base for their activities on the island.”

The hotel will feature 154 guestrooms, including Japanese-style family rooms for up to four guests, all equipped with modern facilities such as flat-screen TV sets and complimentary Wi-Fi.

The hotel will have a 24-hour front desk and daily housekeeping and laundry.
