Haute couture eyewear hits the shops in the run-up to the festive season
THE HIGH season has arrived and that means tourists will be flocking to Thailand’s beaches. The winter holiday period always coincides with the launch of cool and functional designs to suit the smart travellers and eyewear is no exception with some of the leading names in the fashion world releasing cool shades and spectacles with funky frames and in different materials.
Ray Ban's RB 3561 the General sunglasses, Bt7,150
Renowned American manufacturer Ray Ban introduces the General RB3561 sunglasses in the brand’s iconic square full metal shape but with new ultra-fine flat temples and classic Havana acetate temple tips. The frames are available in refined gold, black and silver, and rich new tones of bronze, light bronze and medium bronze while the high lenses come in classic green, polar green, blue gradient, grey and copper flash gradient and soft multi-gradient options.
The General RX6389 optical frames are designed for the urban generation. The super-fine full metal frame is available in sleek gold, black, silver and light brown, and fitted with smooth acetate temple tips and adjustable nose pads to ensure all day comfort.

Luxury brand Prada has come up with the new VPR 03U optical frames in a classic and elegant design. The large panto-shaped front boasts a geometric metal bridge and sinuous temples in new colourful striped or floral inserts inspired by the patterns and details of the Prada spring-summer 2017 runway accessories and its ready-to-wear collection.
High-end brand Dolce & Gabbana meanwhile presents the DG4312 cat-eye acetate sunglasses featuring an original yellow-and-blue striped print that conjure up images of exclusive seaside resorts. The frames are decorated with a seahorse and starfish in gold-plated metal, with mirror lenses in gold to complete the look.

The DG3273 optical acetate frames feature a multi-faceted front section and are available in the classic colours of black and Havana or the brighter shade of fuchsia, while a sophisticated mother-of-pearl version comes in either grey or Havana.
