Amid fears of more cases of dengue fever in the upcoming wet season, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) is set to launch a campaign to raise public awareness of this Aedes mosquito-borne disease in various communities.

Activities to educate people about the disease and how to prevent it would be organised, BMA Department of Health chief Dr Chawin Sirinak said.

Last year, 63,310 people in Thailand suffered from dengue fever and 61 succumb to the disease.
