A GROUP OF well-known entertainers have jointly “shared” on social media a song composed by the late King Rama IX being played by Japanese musicians.
The joint digital event came as their majesties Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko of Japan arrived in Thailand yesterday to pay homage to His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej.
They will also have an audience with His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn to strengthen traditional relations between the two royal families. Thailand and Japan are marking the 130th anniversary of diplomatic relations this year.
Thai actors and actresses including Anne Thongprasom, Cherry Khemupsorn, Sririta Jensen, Taew Natapohn, Pancake Khemanit, Mint Chalida, Toey Jarinporn and Alek Teeradetch shared the royally composed song “Echo”, gaining thousands of “likes” on social media.
The song was played by three Japanese musicians with 13-string harps and a flute, which are musical instruments for royal courts, to honour the late King’s talent for music.
