Police seized almost 3 million yaba pills from a six-wheel refrigerator truck abandoned at a gas station in Pathum Thani's Klong Luang district on Tuesday evening, national police chief General Somyos Pumpanmuang said yesterday.
The truck was left at the station from 10am until 8pm reportedly by a drug network member for another member to take over. Suspicious station guards called police to check on the truck, resulting in the discovery of 2,998,000 yaba pills in 20 fertiliser sacks.
Police believe the pills were smuggled from a neighbouring country and will test them in a lab. They will also check on a man from Tak’s Phob Phra district whose name was on the truck’s registration, to find out whether he had any involvement in the drug smuggling, deputy police chief General Pongsapat Pongcharoen said.
