As part of legal reform, the Election Commission (EC) will be instructed to identify legal loopholes and solutions to ensure free and fair elections, a source said yesterday.

Defence Ministry permanent-secretary General Surasak Kanchanarat will discuss legal reform with EC chairman Supachai Somcharoen and his other EC members today.
The discussion will include efforts to reform other organic laws under the Constitution such as the Political Party Act, the Election Act and the Public Referendum Act.
The EC is expected to assign each EC commissioner to come up with suggestions and proposals within this week.
