Australian stand-up comedian, political commentator, actor and writer Jim Jefferies is bringing his “The Night Talker Tour” to Thailand, with a show set for Bangkok’s Scala Theatre on January 18.

The 41-year-old Sydney-born wordsmith – one of the hottest stand-up-comedy draws on the planet – has multiple side-splitting videos on YouTube. He hosts cable network Comedy Central’s late-late-night “Jim Jefferies Show”, tackling the news of the day with candour, insight and a unique viewpoint.

His third Netflix stand-up special, “This is Me Now”, was just released, his seventh in eight years. In this one, he opens up about the challenges of being a single father and about the weirdest gig he’s ever played.

Jefferies’ earlier hard-hitting material on America’s gun-control laws is widely regarded as one of the greatest pieces of stand-up ever recorded.

And then there was the time in 2007 when a stage-invading heckler punched him at the Manchester Comedy Store. That too was captured on video and became one of YouTube’s earliest viral videos, quickly garnering two million views.
