Three-time Grammy-winning band Maroon 5 will be back in Thailand on March 9 as their “Red Pill Blues World Tour” rolls into Impact Challenger Hall 1.

The American pop-rock band will be hitting Tokyo, Seoul and Singapore before reaching Bangkok, playing material from their sixth studio album, last year’s “Red Pill Blues”.

The title alludes to the choice offered in the 1999 sci-fi film “The Matrix” between a red pill and blue pill.

The album got mixed reviews from critics but nevertheless rose to No 2 on the US Billboard 200 chart, driven by the singles “What Lovers Do”, “Wait” and “Girls Like You”.

The first of those tracks features American R&B singer SZA and the second Cardi B. It was a Billboard No 1 – a fourth chart-topper for Maroon 5 and a third for Cardi B.

The Los Angeles-based band have achieved three Grammy Awards and become “the most successful group in the history of the Billboard Hot 100” with 12 Top 10 entries. They’ve earned 20 Top 40 hits, the only band to ever do so, and sold 36 million albums and 48 million singles. They’ve earned gold and platinum certifications in more than 35 countries.
