The famed jewellery house launches a brand new fragrance
KNOWN FOR DIAMONDS and the distinguished blue box, Tiffany & Co last week launched its first new fragrance in 15 years created by world-renowned master perfumer Daniela Andrier of Givaudan.
A celebrity-studded launch was recently held at the Tiffany boutique inside the Emporium shopping complex, with Francois Saurel, general manager of Coty Prestige Southeast Asia and country manager Apinya Dolan on hand to welcome guests and talk about the powerful new essence of the Tiffany & Co. Fragrance, as well as its latest advertising campaign, on which it has collaborated with fashion photographer Steven Meisel.
Tiffany describes the inspiration as bold, provocative and completely unexpected, an iconic identity stripped to its core in a powerfully modern way. The scent opens with vibrant top notes of vert de mandarine or unripe tangerines, while the iris flower is the ingredient at the centre. Tiffany’s association with the iris dates back to the earliest sketches found in the Tiffany archives and is deeply entwined in the DNA of the house. It was an iris brooch set with demantoid garnet blossoms and Montana sapphires that earned Tiffany the grand prize at the Paris Exposition in 1900. Harvested in France during the months of July and August, the iris butter is obtained through a unique hydrodistillation extraction, exclusive to the Tiffany fragrance, ensuring a pure, bright, sensual and long-lasting richness to the final note.
This signature ingredient adds strength, femininity and grounds the composition with refinement and sophistication. Patchouli base notes wrapped in a blend of soothing musks is sensual on the skin. The final structure is both unexpected – a timeless scent in its most elemental form.
The bottle too is unique and looks like a giant jewel in itself. The glass flacon of the fragrance takes its inspiration from Tiffany & Co’s most iconic diamond cuts, including the famous 128.54-carat Tiffany diamond, while the pure geometric lines of the shoulders and cap mirror the Lucida-cut diamond engagement ring. A hint of Tiffany Blue’s accents the collar in the signature T pattern.
And like all Tiffany creations, through its storied 180-year history, Tiffany & Co. has captured the luxury, glamour, and romance of New York City.
The fragrance has proposals pretty much covered, the perfect gift ensuring that the scent matches every personality. It is presented in the signature Tiffany’s famous Blue Box, an instant symbol of style and sophistication.
It comes in three sizes: 30ml (Bt2,950), 50ml (Bt4,400), and 75ml (Bt5,400).
