Nualphan Lamsam, honorary consul of the Republic of Lithuania in Bangkok, recently marked the 29th anniversary of its independence from the USSR and the 101st anniversary of its founding after the first World War with an event at The Athenee Hotel’s Grand Hall.

The event recalled the united fight for freedom and the joy of living once again in an independent democratic republic through paintings created by children and photographs of the Baltic country’s tourist attractions and landmarks.

Guests included ambassadors and other diplomats from various countries, representatives of the Thai government, travel companies, importers and exporters and Thai investors in Lithuania.

Nualphan shared the history of the Republic of Lithuania with guests and waxed lyrical about the scenery while Ina Marciulionyte, Lithuania’s ambassador to China, Thailand, Myanmar, South Korea, Mongolia and Vietnam who is based in Beijing shared information about its tourist attractions, landmarks, economy, art and culture.
