A woman in Bangkok’s Sai Mai district is suspected to have committed suicide by inhaling poisonous fumes.
The woman, Somboon Meeying, 50, is suspected to have killed herself in her bedroom by lighting charcoals in a pan and sealing all the ventilation in her room with adhesive tape.
The Bang Khen Police Station was alerted to the suspected suicide in a housing estate on Thepparak Road at 5am by the son-in-law of Somboon.
The son-in-law noticed that Somboon did not get up for work at 5am as usual, so he went to check and smelled fumes from her room.
He broke into the room and found that Somboon was lying dead on her bed. A pan with ashes from charcoal lay in the centre of the room while the ventilation in the room was found to have been sealed with adhesive tape.
Her body was sent for an autopsy to Bhumibol Hospital.
