A man was found dead in Phetchaburi on Thursday night beside the body of a woman in a suspected murder-suicide involving a love triangle.
The body of Lee (surname withheld), 49, was found beside the body of Natthika (surname withheld), 36, near a rice field in Moo 6 village in Tambon Nong Chumphol in Khao Yoi district.
Lee had foam coming out of his mouth, and a bottle of pesticide and a homemade sawn-off shotgun was nearby. The woman had been shot in the back with the bullets exiting on the left side of her chest. Her body was covered with tree branches.
Lee’s daughter called police to the scene. She said her father had earlier told her to check the rice field in case he did not return home that evening. She came out and found the bodies after her father did not appear by dusk.
Police learned from people in the neighbourhood that the two were suspected of having an extramarital affair and were each married to other people.
