Popular Nakhon Ratchasima pub closed over underage drinkers

A pub owner has been arrested, and his pub closed indefinitely, after authorities found 40 underage drinkers inside his popular pub in Nakhon Ratchasima’s Dan Khun Thod district.

District officials, police and Army troops raided the Zeed Pub, led by Dan Khun Thod chief Paitoon Mahacheunjai and Dan Khun Thod police station chief Pol Colonel Torsak Chantharakandanon.

The officials arrested owner Sarawut Hongkhunthod, 27, after allegedly discovering 40 pub-goers under age 20.

Torsak said one of the underage drinkers also tested positive for drug use.

He said the owner was charged with operating an entertainment venue without a licence, selling alcoholic drinks to underage persons, and promoting underage persons to act improperly.

Torsak said the pub would be closed indefinitely.
