Two young Thais were arrested on Saturday morning shortly after they snatched an iPhone 6 from a Russian tourist in Pattaya, police said.
Fortunately for Sergei Borunov, 27, the theft, at 6am, happened near the Pattaya police station, so he could immediately alert a policeman standing in front of the station.
Borunov told police that a young boy snatched his phone and ran to a waiting motorcyclist and sped off. He said he ran after them but failed to catch up.
Police at the station alerted all the checkpoints on Pattaya roads and an officer at the checkpoint in front of Makro shopping mall in North Pattaya spotted the two thieves and arrested them.
One of them was identified as Jakkrit Daolok, 20, and the other is a 16-year-old boy.
