The 2018 edition of the Italian Festival gets underway on February 15 by introducing local audience to a music comedy show performed by “L’Allegra Orchestrina at Chulalongkorn University’s Music Hall.
The group is made up of eight musicians from Rome, each with a different background, who decided to pool their talents and past experiences to make a different kind of show. It features music from different times and played in different styles with the performance constantly interrupted by comical and unexpected events that tease both the musicians and the audience.
The show has been performed in quite a few theatres in Italy, and has delighted audiences with its storyline focusing on four spiteful and vain musicians. They are ready to start what promises to be a boring performance, but from the very beginning it becomes obvious that the pianist is drunk. From then on things can only get worse.
The four musicians start challenging each other to a long music duel and whatever they are playing magically becomes alive on stage interrupting the show... This goes on until the intervention of Maestro Igor Stokansky who’s supposed to bring the situation back to normal...
The Italian Festival in Thailand is organised by the Embassy of Italy. The show begins at 7pm. Admission is free but registration is required at www.EventBrite.com.
