Free trains bring mourners from Hat Yai to Bangkok begin service

Mourners from the southern provinces began arriving at Hat Yai Railway Station early on Monday to reserve free tickets to Bangkok.



The first free train from Hat Yai to Bangkok left the station at 1.10pm, while the second from Sungai Kolok to Bangkok was scheduled to pick up passengers and leave the station at 3pm.

The two free trains bound for Bangkok from the south will run on Monday, Wednesday, Saturday and next Monday and return from Bangkok on Tuesday, Friday and Sunday.

Samarn Raksawong, a State Railway of Thailand official at the Hat Yai station, said all the air-conditioned sleeping berths had been fully booked from October 15 through next Monday.
