Three Myanmar men and a Myanmar woman were arrested at the Samut Prakan migrant worker registration office on Tuesday morning for unlawfully taking fees from employers or workers seeking to register in the Kingdom.

Following complaints that people had demanded fees from employers and migrants at some registration centres, Labour Ministry officials checked the Samut Prakan centre and found the four organising queues, filling in forms and making photocopies for migrants, Employment Department director-general Waranon Pitiwan said.

The officials found that three of them carried certificates of identity that identified them as legal workers for specific employers but the fourth lacked documents, Waranon added.

Waranon said the three with identity documents had been charged with working in jobs that they had not been registered for and the other was charged with unlawful entry into the Kingdom.

The four were sent to Samrong Nua Police Station. The three with identity documents were fined and the other was transferred to immigration police for deportation.
