Department of Special Investigation (DSI) chief Paisit Wongmuang has offered his condolences to the family of retired DSI investigator Pol Colonel Niran Adulyasak, who on Monday fell to his death from the eighth floor of a Nonthaburi condominium.

Paisit said the family would receive all assistance funding to which it is entitled according to civil service regulations.

Police determined that Niran, 61, had been leaning against the fence of an eighth-floor parking lot when the accident occurred at 11.30am on Monday.

Niran’s son, Pol Lt Colonel Kawin Adulyasak, a traffic policeman attached to Bang Pho Station, said Niran, regularly worked out in the condo building’s 10th-floor fitness club and suffered neither chronic illness nor stress.

Muang Nonthaburi police superintendent Pol Colonel Panyapat Dechotipisit concurred with Kawin that the fall was an accident, and said the autopsy results are expected to confirm it.

Niran had retired from the DSI about a year ago and opened a bookstore near a school.
