Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha will visit flood victims in hard-hit Sakon Nakhon province on Wednesday.
He is scheduled to fly out of Bangkok at 7.30am that day to hear reports on the flooding situation in Sakon Nakon from local officials and the Royal Irrigation Department’s chief.
At 9am, he will visit flood-hit locals and hand out relief items. HM King Maha Vajiralongkorn has already had a kitchen set up there to serve free food to flood victims.
At 9.35am, the prime minister will inspect Big Cleaning Day activities in Muang Sakon Nakhon Municipality area, where floodwaters have already subsided. From there, he will travel to heavily flooded areas by boat.
At 10.35am, he will visit a main bridge damaged by floodwater.
Prayut will also inspect the Huai Sai Khamin Dyke, which needs repair. Damage to this dyke was blamed for serious floods in Sakon Nakhon province. As of publication time, the dyke was almost dry.
At 12.30pm, Prayut will fly out of Sakon Nakhon and head back to Bangkok.
