Hundreds of people in Nakhon Phanom province are struggling with floods as run-off floodwater from upstream Sakon Nakhon province arrived on Sunday.
Floods have swamped Nakhon Phanom’s Na Kaew district, submerging hundreds of homes and more than 15,000 rai of farmland.
State officials are busy delivering assistance and arranging evacuation of the affected people.
If the floodwaters continue to rise, more people in hard-hit areas will have to be evacuated.
The floods have left several communities in Sakon Nakhon marooned for the past three days. Victims are facing shortages of food and water.
