Three killed as car drives under six-wheel truck

A married couple and another man were killed in a road crash involving three vehicles in Ratchaburi Friday evening police said.



The victims were in a car that crashed into a six-wheel truck and was trapped beneath it on Ratchaburi-Jom Bueng road in Tambon Chedi Hak of Ratchaburi’s Meuang district at 6.30pm.

The couple died inside their car, according to Pol Capt Nattapol Pienpitak of Mueang police station.

They were identified as Phan Kuansungnone, 29, and Tippawan Punuch, 26.

Passenger Sornthorn Darak, 30, died after being thrown from the car on impact. The car’s roof was torn off as the vehicle drove under the truck.

The truck driver, who is identified as Anusorn Oonkaew, 32, fled the scene.

The car was also hit by a pickup driven by Chaturon Deelertkulchai, 25.

Chaturon told police that he saw the truck spinning on the road and the car slam into it. He said he could not stop his pickup in time and hit the car.
