The Election Commission will “invite” the political cartoonist and the editor of the Matichon Weekend for questioning over a cartoon deemed as disseminating false information about draft constitution.

EC commissioner Somchai Srisutthiyakorn said the cartoonist, Aroon Watcharawat, and the editor will be summoned to meet him on June 30 because of a recent cartoon published on the weekly news magazine’s website.
He said he will send out his personal invitation to the two on Thursday.
Somchai said he had cross-checked with Constitution Drafting Commission, which affirmed that the cartoon portrayed incorrect information about the draft.
“Now, our action is not a formal one yet. We need to find out facts first. We have seven days to look for facts so I’ll invite those concerned for a talk,” Somchai said.
“I would like them to come here in persons so that we can find out about the facts but they may opt out not to come.”
Somchai added that the EC also waited for a formal letter from the CDC regarding to the cartoon.
