Hanoi - Police in Vietnam have seized 32 suspected bear paws, a customs official said Thursday.
The 58 kilograms of body parts were discovered late Wednesday when officials at a checkpoint in Mong Cai town discovered a man behaving suspiciously while carrying a sack on his motorbike, customs inspector Nguyen Van Hoan told dpa.
"When we opened his sack we found 32 hands and feet which were later confirmed by a forest warden to belong to bears," he said.
The 33-year-old man admitted he was hired by a Chinese man to transport the sack to a location near the Chinese border.
The case was then handed to police who will send the suspected bear parts for scientific testing.
