Krabi park officials threaten action against cliff diving

The chief of Hat Noppharat Thara - Mu Ko Phi Phi National Park Wednesday threatened action against tourist firms that take tourists to climb cliffs at the park for diving.

Sarayut Tanthian said if park officials spot any tourist firm let tourists to climb cliffs and dive into the sea water, staffs of the firms would be arrested and fined.
He said several firms often took tourist to do cliff diving at the Poda islands and Phi Phi islands.
The practice was dangerous as the firms mostly do not high enough staffs to take care of the tourists, he added.
