The prime minister insisted Monday that the 14 students arrested for violating an order by the postcoup junta will have to be tried by a military court.

General Prayut Chanocha said that it had been clearly announced after the coup as to what offences shall be tried by a military court, adding that violating an order by the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) was among those offences.
The students are being detained in remand after they refused to apply for bail.
