Bangkok transportation remains affordable

Despite the notorious of Bangkok traffic, Bangkok remains the top city where transportation is still affoardable, according to the annual global Hotels.com Airport Transportation Insider.



Among the most popular destinations in Asia, Bangkok taxi remains the most affordable with the fare of US$8 or around Bt260, to get from the primary airport to the city center, China comes in the second most affordable followed with Taiwan and Korea with the taxi fares of Bt480, Bt960 and Bt1,248 respectively. 
To help travellers better plan their travel itineraries, Hotels.com has compiled an insider’s look at the best transportation options from around 30 major airports around the world, including Suvarnabhumi Airport, Bangkok.  The Hotels.com Airport Transportation Insider compares taxi, private car and mass transit options within the most popular international and domestic destinations based on the latest Hotel Price Index.
When looking at popular overseas destination for Thais such as Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong, Korea and China, the survey found that Singapore has the most value for money mass transportation. With the fare of Bt32T on MRT rail from Changi Airport to the city. For Japan, the most value for money transportation from Narita International Airport to Tokyo is via bus at the cost of only Bt288.
