A fire completely destroyed a workers’ camp in Soi See Kor in Kathu on Thursday at around 7am and at noon a second fire hit a workers’ camp in Paklok.
Four fire engines took about half an hour to control the fire at the two-storey, 40-room building.
Kathu police say no one was in the building at the time as they had already left for work. It was about 100 metres from other buildings.
Police are now investigating the causes while the damage is being assessed.
Police believe it could have been caused by an electrical short circuit.
