The wife of a suspected drug trafficker already in custody was also arrested on Thursday along with three men after 83 kilograms of marijuana were found on a rubber plantation in Songkhla’s Sadao district.

Police, who’d been watching the group since arresting the husband of Duangtip Duangmak, 32, two weeks ago, discovered 39 bricks of marijuana weighing 1kg each hidden in tall grass and 44 more in a plastic bag buried beside a house on the property.

Those arrested are Duangtip, Pongsaphak Huilong, 20, Pongpat Sungmun, 21, and Kittipong Sungmun, age not given.

Duangtip denied owning the marijuana, but the others allegedly told police she’d been running the drug gang since her husband was arrested.
