The famous Lake of Red Water Lilies in Udon Thani province has been drawing a lot of tourists each day as the flowers are in full bloom, local residents said.

People living near the 15,000-rai Nong Han Lake in the Koom Wapi district have opened five piers to cater to the tourist influx. The five piers are Ban Diam pier, Don Kong pier, Chaelae pier, Konsai pier and None Nam Yoi pier.

Thongrien Laosepol, 63, chairman of the tourist boat operators of None Nam Yoi village, said his group has 53 boats to take tourists out to the lake to be amid the red water lilies. Riding an eight-seater boat costs Bt500 per trip and a three-seater boat costs Bt300 per trip, he added.
