Support for foreign visitors to Royal Crematorium

The Department of Tourism is providing support to the large numbers of foreign tourists visiting the Royal Crematorium daily to view the finest in Thai traditional art, in honour of the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej.



According to Anant Wongbenjarat, director general of the department of tourism (DOT), Ministry of Tourism and Sports, the Royal Crematorium has attracted many tourists, especially those who are visiting the nearby Grand Palace and Wat Pho.

“They are fascinated by the grandeur of the Royal Crematorium, its magnificent designs and decorations which represent the best of Thai traditional art as well as the Thai people's deep reverence for the late King,”he said.

To visit the Royal Crematorium and the exhibition, tourists are required to show their passports and go through a screening process . Most foreign tourists visiting the Royal Crematorium and exhibition come from European countries. They all express deep admiration for the Royal Crematorium and satisfaction with the services from DOT officials, he said.
