A Board of Investment road show in South Korea earlier this month persuaded 30 firms to expand their investments in Thailand, focusing on medical equipment and digital technology, BOI deputy secretary general Narit Therdsteerasukdi said on Monday.

“We visited three cities and we believe investors there are interested in expanding in Thailand, in accordance with the South Korean government’s New Southern Policy to improve investments in Southeast Asia,” Narit said.

From 2014 through September this year, South Korean firms applied for tax incentives from the BOI for 162 projects, the investment totalling Bt34.4 billion.
