The American Chamber of Commerce in Thailand has presented a cheque for Bt1 million to the US embassy in support of the Great and Good Friends exhibition, which celebrates 200 years of friendship between the United States and Thailand.

The historic relationship began with efforts to establish trade, and the exhibit includes official gifts and letters exchanged between the two nations. Dozens of leading Thai and American cultural institutions including the Smithsonian and the National Museum Bangkok have loaned rarely displayed items for the exhibit, which opens on March 21 at the Queen Sirikit Museum of Textiles.
