Coffers boosted by state enterprises

State enterprises contributed Bt50.646 billion to the government in the first four months of the fiscal year starting October 2017, exceeding the target by 35 per cent.



Ekniti Nitithanprapas, director-general at State Enterprise Policy Office (Sepo), said that state enterprises’ income contribution was Bt12.994 billion, higher than estimated for the first four months of this fiscal year.

In the first month of 2018 alone, state enterprises contributed Bt7.252 billion to the government, surpassing the target by Bt3.357 billion, he said.

Chanvit Nakburee, deputy director-general and spokesman at Sepo, said that among the top five income-contributing state enterprises, Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand came first, followed by Government Lottery Office, Government Savings Bank, Provincial Authority of Thailand and Government Housing Bank.
