Four economic agencies will finalise their 2019 budgets for submission to the Cabinet within this month, according to Ministry of Finance.
Speaking after the 13th OECD Asian Senior Budget Officials Meeting, Wisudhi Srisuphan, deputy minister for finance, said that the ministry, Budget bureau, Bank of Thailand and National Economic and Social Development Board will hold talks on expenditure budget for fiscal year 2019.
The ministry aims to drive economic growth with sustainable income and a balanced budget.
Dechapiwat Na Songkhla, director of the Budget Bureau, said that the amount of budget deficit in fiscal 2019 will depend on the government's estimated revenue collection during the fiscal year.
In the fiscal 2019, the budget will be focused more on local areas, ageing society and local labour skill development, he said.
