The Cabinet yesterday gave a green light to extend the construction period for three large irrigation projects worth a combined Bt30.3 billion in the North of Thailand, after the Irrigation Department explained the obstacles they are facing.

Nattaporn Jatusripitak, a minister adviser to the Office of Prime Minister, said that completion of project construction has been extended to 2023.

The three irrigation projects are the Bt10.5-billion Pha Chuk Dam project, the Bt4.8-billion Huai Nam Ree reservoir in Uttaradit province, and the Bt15-billion reservoir of Mae Kuang Udom Thara Dam in Chiang Mai province.
