If Thailand can export goods worth about US$19.06 billion (Bt632.29 billion) monthly during the current quarter, overall export value this year will rise to a record high of around $232.618 billion, International Trade Promotion Department director-general Chantira Jimreivat Vivatrat said on Tuesday.
The current yearly record is $229.084 billion, which was achieved in 2012.
Export value during the first nine months of this year stood at $175.435 billion.
Export growth is expected to continue during the final three months of the year, thanks to economic recovery among the Kingdom’s trading partners and a greater number of incoming orders, she said.
Chantira added that during the remainder of the year, the department would invite around 200 domestic and international rice traders to hold talks with 219 Thai rice exporters.
The department hopes to see immediate orders of Bt586 million arising from these discussions, and continued orders of Bt30 billion.
