The Energy Ministry has extended its patronage to “Asia Power Week”, the largest and most comprehensive conference and exhibition for the power-generation industry in Asia, PennWell Corp – the US-based publisher and event organiser – announced on Monday.

The event takes place at BITEC on September 19-21 this year.

The regional event is expected to attract more than 8,000 delegates from over 85 countries across Asia and the rest of the world, and brings together “POWER-GEN Asia” and “Renewable Energy World Asia” under one roof, as it marks 25 consecutive years as the continent’s premier power industry event, said Areepong Bhoocha-Oom, permanent secretary of the Energy Ministry.

This year, “Asia Power Week” has also gained the participation and support of Thailand’s Energy Policy and Planning Office and the Alternative Energy Development and Efficiency Department, in addition to various influential Thai power industry players such as the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand, EGCO, Ratchaburi Electricity Generating Holding, BCPG, the Provincial Electricity Authority, the Metropolitan Electricity Authority, the Energy Regulatory Commission, and the Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau.

The three-day event boasts a large exhibition floor, with an expected 200-plus exhibitors demonstrating the latest leading technologies and solutions, and delivering quality of content and experience from experts in the fields, high-level networking and potential business opportunities.
