LOW-COST airlines are rolling out special campaigns to catch bookings for the current high season and the coming year. Thai Vietjet yesterday launched a major promotion for 50,000 air tickets priced from zero, running from tomorrow to Saturday.
The offer applies to Vietjet routes connecting Thailand and Vietnam – Bangkok to Ho Chi Mint City, Hanoi and Hai Phong – for travel between February 1 and October 29 next year.
Vice president Nguyen Thi Thuy Binh said the activity was part of its Sky Connection Bangkok and Vietnam 2017 campaign, which aimed to promote travel between Thailand and Vietnam during the coming year.
Vietnam had become the world’s destination so the airline created a marketing tactic to lure Thai tourists to Vietnam.
The carrier boasts a fleet of 42 aircraft flying 350 routes each day.
It already operates 60 routes in Vietnam and to destinations across the region including Thailand, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Malaysia, China and Myanmar. It has carried nearly 35 million passengers to date.
Thai AirAsia is also rolling out a campaign to stimulate travel during the year-end period.
Passengers booking flights and paying for tickets from today until the end of the month can join a new tax-break scheme endorsed by the government from December 14 until the end of this year.
Thai AirAsia is also promoting all-in-one tickets on international routes such as Bangkok-Shanghai for Bt3,890, Seoul for Bt3,990 and Osaka for Bt4,290 from today until Christmas for travel to July.
Nok Air is offering deals for weekday travel to local destinations, starting from Bt800 per sector to Chiang Mai, Nakhon Sri Thammarat, Surat Thani, Udon Thani, Phuket and Trang.
Booking time is limited for travel from next Monday to September 30.
