VietJet Aviation’s board on July 14 approved an advance first-phase dividend payment for 2017 at a rate of 20 per cent in cash, for a compliment of 2,000 Vietnamese dong (around Bt3) per share.
The registration deadline is set for July 31, with the dividend due to be paid on August 15. With VietJet’s charter capital of VND3.224 trillion, the total dividend to be paid is equivalent to VND645 billion.
Beside the dividend payment, VietJet will also soon confirm a bonus share dividend of 40 per cent following the allocation of 2016’s profits, which was approved at the company’s 2017 annual shareholder meeting and is now under the consideration and approval process of the State Securities Committee.
In 2017, VietJet plans to pay a dividend rate of up to 50 per cent.
At the end of this year’s first quarter, VietJet’s audited redundancy capital was VND1.535 trillion and its unallocated after-tax profit for the period came in at VND2.08 trillion.
The business results for the year’s second quarter are expected to be better than the budgeted plan, the airline said.
