THE BANK of Thailand has urged Land & Houses Bank (LH Bank) to advise it as soon as possible of a successor to Anant Asavabhokin as the bank’s chairman.
Anant had resigned from the chairmanship of the bank and its owner, LH Financial Group plc, with effect on Friday. The moves came after the Department of Special Investigation issued a summons for him to be questioned in connection with alleged conspiracy and money laundering charges related to Dhammakaya Temple and Klongchan Credit Union Cooperative.
Ronnadol Noomnont, assistant governor of the Bank of Thailand, said the central bank had received Anant's resignation letter and that the board of directors of LH Bank was required to submit to it soon the name of a new chairman.
