AAM expands manufacturing in Thailand

New York-listed American Axle & Manufacturing Holdings (AAM) on September 8 opened its Rayong manufacturing facility, located in the Hemaraj Eastern Seaboard Industrial Estate, which will manufacture front axles, rear axles; and driveshafts, among others.



 "We are extremely pleased to celebrate the grand opening of AAM's sixth regional manufacturing operation in Asia," said AAM Executive Vice President, Worldwide Operations John J. Bellanti.  "The manufacturing facility will allow us to leverage AAM's historic track record of worldclass quality, delivery, reliability and outstanding warranty performance while furthering AAM's global expansion strategy in the second largest pickup truck market in the world."

 PresidentAAM Asia, Vice PresidentAAM, Steven J. Proctor, noted that profitable growth in Asia is a key component of the company's global business strategy. "This new facility reflects this commitment to Asia while allowing us to provide advancedtechnology products for current and potential new customers throughout the region."

 When fully operational, the facility will have approximately 275 engineering and manufacturing associates.

 In addition to locations in the United States (Indiana, Michigan, New York, Ohio, and Pennsylvania), AAM also has offices or facilities in Brazil, China, Germany, India, Japan, Luxembourg, Mexico, Poland, South Korea, Sweden, Thailand and the United Kingdom.
