Subaru is offering a special version of its XV crossover that features enhancements in handling, aerodynamics and weight distribution.

According to distributor TC Subaru (Thailand), the STI Performance Edition is priced at Bt1.39 million, slightly higher than the Bt1.25-million XV 2.0i and the Bt1.29-million XV Sports. The exterior of the special edition SV gets STI front, rear and roof spoilers, side skirts, strut bar, daytime running lights and STI performance badges. Inside, there are chrome climate control dials, a matt-silver steering wheel control panel and side panels, a reverse camera and headrest monitor.
The engine has not been upgraded, but according to wind tunnel tests undertaken by Subaru Technical International (STI), driving stability and drivability have been improved compared to the stock version. The XV’s 2.0-litre boxer engine produces 160hp and 196Nm, transmitted to the road via a symmetrical all-wheel-drive system.
“Subaru customers are very discerning and there has been growing interest in the Subaru XV in the Asean region,” said Glenn Tan, executive director of Tan Chong International, the parent company of TC Subaru. “Therefore, to cater to this increasing demand for the XV, we want to be able to offer a variety of options to our customers, and the STI Performance edition is one of the projects in the pipeline.”
