Training course on events, marketing communication

CMO Group, a leading event organiser, has joined forces with Nation University and Nation Broadcasting Corporation to launch a 84-hour training course called "IMC GURU" that will create personnel with turnkey integrated marketing communication and event marketing skills.

Sermkhun Kunawong, CEO of CMO Group, said last week that Thailand was a leading country in Asean for event organising, but to sustain its leadership, the country needs to have quality talent. The cooperation with Nation University and NBC would lead to the production of such professionals in the fields of event marketing and integrated marketing communications (IMC) at the international level.

In the future, the company hopes to develop foreign-language courses for Asean students.

The drastic change in consumer behaviour would be a major reason for any marketer to need to have a high level of expertise. IMC will result in complete communications, which will be an important strategy to build a brand and create a market at effective cost.

New innovative techniques and media have been applied to reach consumers. There are many brands that have been successful in the market thanks to IMC.

Today marketers are combining traditional and new media as well as organising marketing activities with interactive communications. With creative ideas, IMC could be used as an important marketing tool to generate income and expand the target customer base with fast and accurate results.

The course will be aimed at medium to higher executives from companies and state enterprises as well as business owners and the general public. The first class will run from June 1-August 4, the second class from August 17-October 20 and the third class from October 27-December 22.

The class will meet Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6-9pm on the 20th floor of the Q House building on Sathorn Road and Saturdays from 9am-4pm at Nation University on Bang Na-Trat Road.
