Japanese property firm Niseko Resorts Group is road-showing its project, The Orchards - located in Niseko - to Thai investors interested in buying a luxury residence on Hokkaido.
The road show, which runs until tomorrow, is being conducted by Colliers International Thailand.
Niseko Resorts Group CEO Eddie Guillemette said his company was thrilled to be given the opportunity for its development to be showcased in Thailand by Colliers International, especially after witnessing a significant recent increase in the number of Thai tourists visiting Hokkaido.
Meanwhile, there is no restriction on foreign ownership of freehold land and houses in Japan, which has helped fuel the interest of prospective Thai-based buyers in its resort location, he said.
Guillemette added that Niseko was much more than just a ski destination, “but a healthy, four-seasons retreat for families like my own who live in crowded cities where clean air, space and amazingly fresh food can be hard to find”.
Colliers International’s senior sales manager, International Project sales & marketing, Christian Robb, said Niseko had been really popular with Thai visitors during the 2013/2014 winter season following the recent opening up of a direct flight from Suvarnabhumi Airport to Sapporo – the largest city on Hokkaido and the fourth-largest in Japan – and the introduction by the Japanese government of a 15-day tourist visa-free period for Thai nationals to enter the country.
Robb added that The Orchards – Niseko’s newest development – would be ready in time for the 2014/2015 winter season.
The Orchards, an exclusive master-planned community, celebrated its grand opening earlier this year with the opening of the clubhouse and launch of the resort hospitality services in Niseko, Asia’s premier international mountain resort.
The third development by property specialists, Niseko Resorts Group, The Orchards offers the perfect combination of privacy, space and convenience with 46 luxury-home plots and five commercial plots over 7 hectares of land.
Located in a pristine natural environment featuring panoramic views, mature cherry trees and a large central feature pond, The Orchards is just a 1.2-kilometre drive from Niseko’s Hirafu Ski Village.
Plots range from 500 square metres to over 1,000 square metres, and there are currently 20 land and house packages for sale ranging in price from ¥55 million to ¥300 million (Bt17.3 million-Bt94.5 million), said Guillemette.
