Thai shares, currency firmer
Thai shares and currency have gained some ground, after losses in the past days.
The Stock Exchange of Thailand index remains in the positive territory at noon, after four straight days of loss.
At noon, the index gained 0.95 points or 0.07 per cent to 1,352.76 points, on turnover of Bt24.86 billion. It temporarily stopped the bleeding, as the index lost for four straight days.
At 10.14am, it gained 15.29 points or 1.13 per cent.
Throughout this week, the index declined for four straight days: 3.27 per cent on Monday, 1.98 per cent on Tuesday, 1.15 per cent on Wednesday and 0.25 per cent on Thursday.
At 1pm, the baht went up to 31.9 per dollar, after opening at 32.03. Yesterday, at one time, it dropped to as much as 32.13 - the level unseen since September 2010.
